A Story a Day in May

I've gone and done it. Thanks to Elizabeth, I've signed up to A Story a Day in May. I've been enjoying Write1 Sub 1 so much, that I thought I'd go to the extreme.

A Story a Day in May, well it does what it says on the tin. A story: you decide how long every day. I've had a little practice today. Ah, these self-imposed challenge, the funny thing is they seem to work. I felt, anxious today, I had a real sense of needing to get thing written. I managed a flash (1000 words almost complete, and 2000 words towards tomorrow's story).

This is fun.

  2. Ahem, it's not a blogfest. It's a, I don't know, a challenge. We're our own task masters. I find these challenge intriguing.

I challenge you, Rogue Mutt, to write a story a day. It's hard. C'mon. Get 30 stories to be submitted in May, woudln't that be cool?

  7. Well done Deborah - I did Story A Day last year and, obviously, W1S1 this year. I don't think I'm going to attempt both though! Respect is due. At least you don't have to worry about W1S1 in May : do Story A Day and you've automatically got W1S1 covered!

  8. Sylvia and Milo, come on in, the water's lovely.

Michael and Trisha -- mad isn't it? The stories can be as small as you want, though.

Simon, how did you find it, last year?

  11. Hi, Cate and Rach, -- Story a Day is creeping up on me. I've got a plan-- a list of venues for the first 15 days. I actually feel nervous, it could end in tears, but what the hey.

  12. ...and hey, CONGRATS on reaching your Write1Sub1 goals this month!

  13. I'm completely failing Write1Sub1, mostly because I've been submitting stories something like once every two months. But I have been writing - partly because my professors make me, too - and I think just writing will get me motivated.

That is a very roundabout way of saying I'm going to say I'm going to do this, and then fail miserably as I watch you succeed fabulously. It's always nice to have such a good role model! =)

  14. Go, Debs! I'm searching for something more insightful to say, but i got nothing :D

Write hard! May your daily stories lead to daily glories. Or something less corny.

  19. This sounds great. If I weren't in the thick of revisions, I'd take part in the story a day challenge. It's such a great way to focus our creativity.

  20. I am seriously failing the Story a Day. I'm inspired, but life is crazier than normal right now.
