Two Sales in a Week for Debs

I'm just waiting for my third. Acceptances always come in threes, right? (Oh, the hubris).

The first is a science fiction flash to Nature's Futures. That marks my fifth sale there. There have been some editorial changes at Nature's Futures, with Colin Sullivan stepping up to be editor. Henry Gee is now the consulting editor. Guidelines are here.

My other sale was a reprint, that actually was first published in Nature, to the Danish magazine, Proxima. This will be my first translated work.  If you're interested in submitting science fiction, fantasy or horror reprints to overseas markets you might like to check out Douglas Smith's Foreign Market List.

  3. Excellent, Deborah! Foolish me, I've never considered subbing to any markets outside of the English-speaking variety. So far, Canada and the UK have been my only "foreign" sales... =]

  4. Congrats, Deborah. That's great news. I think foreign markets are an uncharted territory that many should explore - at the moment, I'm investigating Romanian markets for my mystery novel with the help of a fellow blogger. Success arises from many different angles.

  5. Congrats, Debs! Five sales to Nature is awesome, and big congrats on the foreign market sale. Writers can have a lot of success selling reprints to foreign markets. I'm waiting until i have a few more reprints (rights available, etc) and then i'm going to follow in your footsteps :)

  8. Well done! Hope you get the third.
I checked out your productivity post below. There's no wake up call like tracking what you're actually doing and seeing what you get done.
