In Which I Forget How to Write

I've moved house which means I've had two weeks without any internet access. I, unlike most writers, can't write without the constant allure of the internet. First day back today, and it feels like I've forgotten how to write.

Boy, I go flabby real quickly. It'll come back, no doubt.

August news has been good. I had a story accepted by Edge of Sundown, the Western horror anthology from Chaosium, and Cosmos will be reprinting my story, 'Looking Good' in an i-pad version of Cosmos. Add to that a poetry sale to Sorcerous Signals and it adds up to a nice month. Especially compared to last August when I didn't sell a bean.

How's your August been?

Confessions of a Museum Bunny-- At SFWA

My guest blog is up at the Science Fiction Writers of America site. It's all about how I love museums and how they inspire my writing.

It was a lot of fun to write. I ought to do more non-fiction. Thinking. . . thinking . . .

Any ideas gratefully received.

What about you guys? Does anyone write non-fiction? (not counting your own blogs, I already read those) Do post the links if you do, I'd like to check them out.

Science Fiction Flash Competition-- Escape Pod

Thanks to Scott W. Baker for alerting me to Escape Pod's science fiction flash competition. 750 words deadline 15th September, two entries allowed.

I like competitions.

Looks like fun. And look out for the flash fiction competitions for their sister publications, Pseudopod (horror) and Podcastle (fantasy)
